As girls arrive, we will have them think about what type of business they might want to run one day. If they could own a company, what would it be called, what would the company do? What would the logo look like? Then they can draw a picture of themselves at work, and come up with their own uniforms or outfits to wear to work (or school or even girl scouts!)

Once all girls arrive we’ll rise to say the Girl Scout Promise and pledge of allegiance. Then, we’ll ask them to define CREATE (to make something) and INNOVATE (to change something that already exists, and think of ways to make something better.)

Project 1: Package design

First we will have girls consider something they can create (make or invent) or innovate (change to make better.) Once they have come up with their idea, we will have them design packaging for their creation. We will have flat sheets of paper that they can design with the name of their object or invention, along with colorful drawings. Then, they will help them glue their design around the box that holds their creation.

Project 2: Create

After girls come up with their invention and create the packaging, we’ll have them sculpt their objects out of colorful dough.

At the end of this meeting the Brownies will have earned their Create and Innovate badge. (Note this badge is backordered, we will provide as soon as the badges become available)
