Memorial Sloan Kettering Toy Drive
As girls arrive, we will collect donated gifts for pediatric patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Once all girls arrive, we’ll stand together to say pledge of allegiance, the Girl Scout Promise, and go over our Brownie meeting rules. For the first half of the meeting we’ll work on making holiday cards to donate along with gifts. For the second half of the meeting we will finish our Outdoor Art Creators badge:
Outdoor Art Creators - Part 2
Brownies will be completing two final steps to earn their Outdoor Art Creator badge.
Craft: Create Music Outdoors!
We will be passing out supplies for girls to create outdoor wind chimes: leaf shapes, metal chimes, string, bells, and beads.
Homework: Nature Detective Checklist!
Towards the last 15 minutes of the meeting, leaders will pass out white cardboard tubes for the girls to decorate and take home. These cardboard tubes will be used as DIY telescopes!
As girls are packing up to leave, we will pass out the Outdoor Nature Detective checklist and ask that the girls complete the scavenger hunt with a parent or grandparent on an outdoor walk at some point over the winter, along with finding a space to hang their wind chimes outside.
We’ll end the meeting with the friendship circle and pass out Outdoor Art Creator badges.
